The Gosport Arts Festival is held in beautiful Olde Towne Portsmouth, Virginia.

An historic seaport city in southeastern Virginia, the City of Portsmouth is centrally located within the region referred to as South Hampton Roads. It is bordered by four neighboring cities: Chesapeake, Norfolk, Suffolk and Virginia Beach. It is also within easy driving distance of Newport News, Hampton, Yorktown, Jamestown and Williamsburg. The Norfolk - Virginia Beach - Newport News Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) ranks as the 27th largest in the United States with a total population of more than 1.5 million.

The show is physically located on High Street, which is a four-lane asphalt-paved street with a raised-curb grass median.

Artist spaces are laid out with the back of the space against the center divider's curb.

Visitors to the show walk in the outside (or parking) lane or on the wide brick-paved sidewalks. Much of the street is tree-lined. The neighborhood consists of quaint shops, popular restaurants, the Tidewater Community College Visual Arts building, and the Children's Museum of Virginia. Ferries from Norfolk load and discharge at the entrance to the show.

Driving Directions

The show will be held on High Street in Portsmouth, Virginia; from the
waterfront to Court Street.

From the Eastern Shore: Take the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel into Norfolk. Follow U.S. 13 South to I-64 East. Follow I-64 East to I-264 West, which will take you through the Downtown Tunnel to Portsmouth. Take the first exit, which is immediately after the tunnel. Stay to the right through the exit to Crawford Street. Follow Crawford street for a few blocks to High Street. High and Crawford intersect near the middle of the show.

From the West: Take I-64 East to I-264 West, which will take you through the Downtown Tunnel to Portsmouth. Take the first exit, which is immediately after the tunnel. From the South: Take U.S. 13 or Virginia 460 to I-664 South. I-664 South will become I-64 West. Follow I-64 West to the Effingham Street exit. Turn right onto Effingham Street. Turn right onto High Street. The show will be about three blocks ahead on High Street.
